bullet 2006 Western Dance and Classic Car Show a Hit:    The western dance and classic car show held on Friday and Saturday, October 20 & 21, 2006 went well and raised a modest amount of money for the Noon Lions.  The Southern Roots Band is truly a talented group and provided the best western music we'd heard live in many a year.  Click here to see some photos from the western dance.

The car show was by all accounts quite a success for a first-time event.  We had approximately 30 cars, the quality of which were very good.   Click here to see some photos.  The winners in the various categories were:

Best '30s:  Alton Hues, 1937 Ford Stake Bed Truck
Best '40s:  Alton Hues, 1949 Mercury Station Wagon
Best '50s:  Don & Kim Brown, 1951 Chevy
Best '60s:  Rosalie Glenn, 1969 Chevy Camero
Best '70s:  Buggs Threadgill, 1970 Olds 442 Convertible
Best Convertible:  Glen Bruce, 1942 Ford Convertible
Best of Show:  Alton Hues, 1949 Mercury Station Wagon
